(WTAQ-WLUK) — Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris has taken the lead over Republican former President Donald Trump in Wisconsin, according to the latest Marquette University Law School Poll.
The poll was released Wednesday, but was conducted before Tuesday night’s debate between Trump and Harris.
Among likely voters, 47% said they would vote for Harris, 43% for Trump and 6% for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Kennedy, who dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump, is suing to be removed from Wisconsin’s ballot in November.
In a head-to-head matchup, Harris led Trump 52-48%. That gap is within the poll’s 4.7-percentage-point margin of error.
Harris’ lead has expanded since last month’s poll, which put Harris at a 50-49% lead among likely voters.
In the U.S. Senate race, the poll showed Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin with 51% support and Republican challenger Eric Hovde with 45% support among likely voters. Those numbers remained unchanged from the last poll in July-August.
The most recent poll was conducted Aug. 28-Sept. 5. It interviewed 822 registered voters in Wisconsin.
