OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The company now operating the Oshkosh Arena is holding a job fair later this month.
VenuWorks has scheduled the job fair for 3-7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the arena, 1212 S. Main St.
Oshkosh Arena’s Executive Director Andy Linton told us, “Stop in, and we’re going to interview on the spot, and hopefully hire on the spot.”
VenuWorks, based in Iowa, took over operations last month. The firm was hired by a court-appointed receiver as a foreclosure lawsuit continues.
Since then, Director of Special Events and Operations Amanda Novak said VenuWorks has been hard at work getting the arena back up and ready to host events.
“They are just cruising, booking the calendar, getting us ready for basketball. They have big plans, so we’re excited,” Novak said.
Linton told FOX 11 the support from the community has played a big part in their efforts.
“The building, and Oshkosh in general, all the citizens, they really want that building up and running,” he said. “And they really are backing the building.”
As for what comes next, Novak said they’re in full swing.
“Getting shows on the calendar, getting them announced, and truly preparing for Herd season right now,” she said.
The arena’s most visible tenant, the Wisconsin Herd, plays its first home game of the 2024-25 season Nov. 15.
