GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is once again home to a pair of otters.
Renee and Caesar were rescued from Louisiana. They’re the sanctuary’s first otters since Sammy and Sadie’s passing in 2022 – the pair lived at the Wildlife Sanctuary for 14 years.
To celebrate the introduction of Renee and Caesar Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary will host “Ottertoberfest” through September. The celebration will take place Sundays 2 to 2:30 p.m. and Thursdays 11 to 11:30 a.m.
On top of the introduction of the otters, the staff at the Wildlife Sanctuary is gearing up for the 19th annual Walk for Wildlife.
The event is set for Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The fundraiser supports the sanctuary’s R-PAWS program which helps the sanctuary care for more than 6,500 injured, orphaned and ill animals annually.
