FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Officials with the Fond du Lac school district say out of an abundance of caution, an extra police presence will be at two schools in the district on Monday after an alleged threat against a school was made last Friday.
In a letter to parents and families from the principals of Theisen and Woodworth middle schools, said late on Friday, Sept.6., the administration team at Theisen was made aware of an alleged threat to the school.
“Our administrative team immediately began an investigation and notified our School Resource Officer (SRO). Over the weekend, the alleged threat began to spread and impacted the Woodworth Middle School learning community. With both administrative teams and SROs investigating, the collective investigation determined there was no credible threat to school safety for Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 at either school,” the letter states.
“We take all potential threats very seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, the Fond du Lac Police Department will have an increased presence at Theisen and Woodworth on Monday, Sept.9, 2024,” the letter says.
