(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers took a 5-1 lead after 4 innings and went on to defeat the Colorado Rockies 5-2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Saturday.
Tobias Myers allowed 4 hits and 1 run over 6 innings while striking out 11 to get the win and improve to 7-5 while lowering his ERA to 2.93.
Willy Adames hit his team-leading 30th home run while William Contreras hit his 21st and Gary Sanchez hit his 10th.
Ty Blach took the loss for Colorado and fell to 3-8

- RHP Tobias Myers (6ip, 4h, 1r, 1er, 1bb, 11k) recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts for the first double-digit strikeout game of his career…..his 11 strikeouts matched Freddy Peralta (2x, last 5/28 vs. Chicago-NL) for the most by a Brewers pitcher this season…..he has allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in 13 of his 16 starts since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on 6/5, going 6-3 with a 2.22 ERA (93.1ip, 23er) in that span…..it marked the most strikeouts by a Brewers rookie since Peralta on 5/13/18 at Colorado (5.2ip, 13k).
- SS Willy Adames (2-for-4, 1hr, 1rbi, 1r, 2sb) put the Brewers up 1-0 with a 2-out solo home run in the first inning, his 30th of the season…..he is 1 HR shy of tying his franchise record for homers in a season as a shortstop (31 in 2022)…..Adames became the first player in franchise history to have 30+ HR and 100+ RBI in a season as a shortstop and the first player in the majors to do so since Boston’s Xander Bogaerts in 2019 (33hr, 114rbi)…..he leads the Major Leagues in HR (110) and RBI (349) as a shortstop since 2021…..he swiped 2 bases in a game for the second time in his career (also 4/13/23 at San Diego).
