(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers managed just 4 hits in a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies Friday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Joey Ortiz had 2 of the hits while Rhys Hoskins and Perkins had the other hits.
Ortiz had put the Brewers up 1-0 in the second inning with a single that scored Blake Perkins.
Colorado took the lead back in the sixth inning on a 3-run home run by Michael Toglia off Brewers starting pitcher Frankie Montas.
The Brewers would close to within a run when Perkins scored on an infield error by the Rockies.
Montas went 6 innings for the Brewers and allowed 3 runs on 2 hits.
Aaron Ashby pitched the final 3 innings, giving up just 1 hit.
Colorado starting pitcher Ryan Feltner got the win to improve to 2-10. It was his first win since his first start of the season back in April. It ended a stretch of 22 starts by Feltner without getting a win.
Feltner gave up 1 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks over 6 innings. He struck out 6.
Tyler Kinley got the save for Colorado.
The Brewers and Rockies will play the second game of the series Saturday night with the pre-game show at 5:35 and first pitch at 6:10 on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
