OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A year after beer sales returned to some athletic events at UW-Oshkosh, the sales will continue this year – but at the concession stands, not in a restricted beer garden.
Last year, there were beer gardens at Titan Stadium for football games, and at the Kolf Sports Center for men’s and women’s basketball. The alcohol purchased had to remain in those beer gardens.
This year, beer will be sold in the concession stands, and the drinks can be taken to the general seating areas, according to a school spokesman.
As of now, just those three sports will have beer available.
UWO did not provide any sales figures from the beer gardens last year.
The football team opens the season at home Saturday against #9 Wheaton College at 1 p.m.
