(WNFL/LEARFIELD) – The Packers are now well into preparing for Friday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur met with the media on Sunday and talked about the team’s new kicker Braydan Narveson whom LaFleur said is doing a nice job so far.
LaFleur was asked if he’s confident in the rookie kicker.
Narveson, meanwhile, talked about the opportunity that has come his way.
As for the backup quarterback spot, LaFleur said he’ll take the week to decide whether Sean Clifford or Malik Willis will be Jordan Love’s backup.
Meanwhile in Brazil: Raging wildfires in Brazil are threatening the Packers’ 2024 NFL season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brazilian officials say they think the fires were started by criminals.
The fires have impacted air quality so severely that the contest could be canceled – or, possibly moved to Philadelphia.
Those fires are still out of control and are said to be threatening people in more than 30 cities.
If the game can be played it would be the second international game in Packers history.
