(WTAQ-WLUK) – A trio of Wisconsin Labor Day events, including one right here in our backyard, are among the most popular in the United States, according to a new poll.
Mixbook canvassed3,000 respondents to determine the nation’s most beloved Labor Day celebrations.
The poll’s results placed three Wisconsin events in the top 100 that Americans would most like to attend this year.
“Labor Day is a time to reflect on the hard work and achievements that have shaped our country,” a spokesperson for Mixbook said in a news release. “These top Labor Day celebrations not only highlight the diverse ways Americans come together to enjoy this holiday but also showcase the unique cultural and regional flavors that make our country so special.”
#45: Taste of Madison
Head to the heart of Wisconsin’s capital city to take part in this non-profit event in downtown Madison. It bills itself as “the largest picnic on Capitol Square.”
Taste of Madison features more than 80 food vendors from local restaurants, a variety of beverage options, family-friendly activities and live music and entertainment.
The event is free to attend and will be held on the Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
#73: Shawano County Fair
If there’s one thing Wisconsinites know how to do well, it’s a county fair. Shawano County’s annual festival takes place over Labor Day weekend and offers food, drinks, fun and entertainment for the whole family.
It offers all the traditional activities, and a few unique ones as well. Here’s just a few:

The Shawano County Fair began Thursday and runs through Monday.
#84 Milwaukee Rally
Bikers from across the country descend upon Milwaukee every Labor Day weekend for the Hometown Rally — a celebration ofall things Harley-Davidson.
This event includes scenic rides, bike shows, live music, axe throwing, stunt riders, a burn-out contest, break dancers, shopping and food and drinks.
It began Thursday and runs through Monday.
