APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire inside an Appleton garage caused about $150,000 worth of damage.
Just after noon Tuesday, crews were dispatched to a single-story home in the 4900 block of North Applebend Drive.
Upon arrival, firefighters heard smoke alarms sounding off and saw smoke coming from the garage.
No one was at home at the time of the fire and a bystander safely removed a dog from inside the residence.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.
The Appleton Fire Department reminds residents to check their smoke alarms monthly.
