GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The weekly American Legion brat fry is being extended on Wednesday to raise money for the Old Glory Honor Flight.
Appleton American Legion Post 38 holds a brat fry at its grounds, 3220 W. College Ave., on Wednesdays at lunchtime. This week, though, the brat fry will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
“It will be a Brat Fry Extravaganza”, Post 38 Commander Jan Hoffman said in a news release. “Our goal is to exceed the amount that was raised at our 2023 event, which was $6,500.00.”
Brats, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, potato chips, refreshments and sweets from Appleton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 38 members will be on the menu. The post encourages those with large orders to call in advance to (920) 733-9840.
The Fox Valley Humane Association will also be on site from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. to provide information about positive animal interactions for veterans and pet adoption opportunities.
The Community Blood Center will also hold a blood drive from 12:30 p.m.-4 p.m.
