(UW COMMUNICATIONS) – The No. 19 Wisconsin women’s soccer team (0-0-0) will travel to Provo, Utah to open the regular season against No. 3 BYU (0-0-0) on Aug. 15 at 8:00 p.m. (CT).
Wisconsin returns 22 athletes including Third Team All-Big Ten members Maddie Ishaug and Hailey Baumann.
In the polls, Wisconsin checked-in at No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll and No. 6 in the Big Ten Preseason Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Poll.
The Cougars had an overall record of 20-3-3, going undefeated in conference play at 7-0-3 in 2023.
BYU finished the season prior ranked No. 4 and made a run to the NCAA College Cup, falling to Stanford 2-0 in the semifinal match.
With nine starters graduating last year, BYU returns two starters in junior forward Allie Fryer and sophomore goalkeeper Lynette Hernaez.
