FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people are displaced and one pet cat died after an apartment fire in Fox Crossing.
Crews were called to the 700 block of Wanda Avenue just before 1 p.m. Sunday.
When firefighters arrived, there was smoke coming from the front door of the two-story multi-family apartment building.
All occupants were able to evacuate, along with three cats.
A resident used two fire extinguishers to knock down the fire in the living room.
Crews used a single hose line to completely extinguish the fire and ventilate the building.
During a search of the building, a cat was found and taken out of the building. Crews performed life-saving measures on the cat but unfortunately the cat died from its injuries.
The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
