OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Multiple people and a dog were pulled from the water after their sailboat capsized on the waters of Green Bay.
Just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the Oconto Fire and Rescue Department along with Oconto Police Department, Oconto Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Coast Guard were dispatched for a capsized sailboat about a quarter-mile mile north of Harbor Road boat launch with three to four adults in the water who were wearing life jackets along with one dog.
Multiple rescue crews were dispatched to locate the capsized sailboat.
Crews that responded to County Park 2, North Bay Shore Park were able to locate the overturned vessel.
Prior to the rescue boat’s arrival, all individuals that went into the water were pulled into another fishing boat.
No injures were reported and the overturned sailboat was up righted and brought back closer to shore.
