MILWAUKEE, WI (METRO) – Expect plenty of other people on the road with you if you’re among those planning a Memorial Day trip this weekend.
Triple-A is projecting over 733-thousand people in Wisconsin to drive at least 50 miles to their destination this weekend.
Even with gas prices at or above three-dollars a gallon in the Milwaukee area, and higher than its been in years in other parts of the state, auto travel for the holiday is expected to increase for the fourth straight year in the state.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is opening as many lanes in construction zones as possible starting at noon today through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
