(LEARFIELD/247NEWSSOURCE) – The Washington Nationals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in the rubber match of a three-game series at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. on Sunday.
Milwaukee has lost six of its last 10 games and is 62-and-49.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said his team is struggling right now.
Murphy said that they are also a victim of bad luck right now with Jackson Chourio’s attempted diving catch of James Wood’s triple that scored 3 runs.
James Wood was 2-for-4 and Luis Garcia Jr. smashed a solo home run.
Starter Mitchell Parker tossed six scoreless innings to improve to 6-and-6. Kyle Finnegan posted his 30th save.
The Nats have won two straight and are 51-and-61. Gary Sanchez had a two-run blast for the Brewers in the loss.
Starter Tobias Myers allowed just one run in five frames but fell to 6-and-5.
Murphy added that he’s not giving up on his team.
The Brewers are off today before opening a 3-game series on Tuesday in Atlanta.
