(WNFL) – The Washington Nationals took a 5-0 lead through 3 innings and went on to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
The Nationals took a 4-0 lead in the first inning off of Brewers starting pitcher Aaron Civale. The rally was highlighted by a 2-run double by Travis Blankenhorn.
Washington added another run in the third inning on a home run by Luis Garcia.
The Brewers got a run back in the fifth inning on a single by Jackson Chourio but Washington got that right back in their half of the fifth on a single by James Wood.
Rhys Hoskins hit his 19th home run of the season in the sixth inning with a wild pitch and a run-scoring single by Gary Sanchez adding 2 more runs for the Brewers in the eighth.
Civale who fell to 2-7 with the loss allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 4 innings.
Bryse Wilson allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief.
