GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Packers fans got their first taste of Packers football at Lambeau Field Saturday with the team’s annual Family Night.
Some like Joe Hager were tailgating with family hours before the Packers practice.
For Hager, family night has been a tradition for 10 years.
“We can bring the young kids, and it doesn’t cost us an arm and a leg. Everything is cheap, when you look at that, the Packers do this for the children, and it’s great, it really is great,” said Hager.
Activities like listening to the tundra line drumming up and down Lombardi Avenue, sign making, and Family Fest in the Titletown district helped keep fans near the stadium occupied before practice.
With more than 76,000 tickets sold for Family Night, fans wasted no time filing into Lambeau Field as they’re eager to see this team and what the future holds.
“I want to see if Jordan Love like starts out slow again or if he just like comes out of the gates like he did at the end of the season and hopefully they make the playoffs,” said Payton Oakes of Cedarburg.
As anticipation over a new Packers season boils over — so, too was the temperature as fans made sure to keep cool.
“Very hot, but we walked around, got a good experience, it was great,” said Jodi Colton of Milwaukee.
However, no summer heat was going to keep people from backing the Packers as the regular season inches closer.
