DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An earthquake was reported in Lake Michigan off the coast of Door County Friday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake measured 2.9 on the Richter scale. It was centered about 24.2 miles east-southeast of Sturgeon Bay.
The quake was documented just before 9:20 a.m.
As of about 11:30 a.m., the USGS says it received 11 reports from people in Sturgeon Bay who said they felt the quake, and one each in Algoma and Fish Creek.
