(LEARFIELD) – The Brewers are hoping August is better for them than July was.
The National League leaders were 11-and-13 in the month just completed. Milwaukee will try to recapture its winning ways with left fielder Christian Yelich, reliever Bryan Hudson, and interim closer Trevor Megill on the injured list.
The newest Brewer, pitcher Frankie Montas, is scheduled to start tonight’s (Friday’s) game on the road at Washington.
Montas came from the Reds in a trade. He also had a bad July and will bring a 4-and-8 record at a 5-point-01 ERA into the game.
The Nationals are riding a four-game losing streak.
The Brewers have a 5 1/2 game over second-place St. Louis and a 6-game lead over third-place Pittsburgh.
Tonight’s game can be heard on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ with the first pitch scheduled for 5:45.
