MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A state health provider gains national attention.
Data from the US Department of Health and Human Services shows UW Health’s Lung Transplant Program has the nation’s highest one-year survival rate.
The numbers show that the probability of UW Health lung transplant recipients surviving one year after a transplant is around 95%, which surpasses the national average rate of just over 88%.
In addition, the average wait time for a lung transplant with UW Health is 12 days. That’s compared to the national average time of a month.
