(LEARFIELD) – Atlanta batters exploded for four runs in the third inning and the Brewers never were able to catch up in Tuesday’s 5-1 loss at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
That evens the series at a game apiece.
Milwaukee’s only run came on a Gary Sanchez single in the bottom of the seventh.
The Braves pounded starter and loser Joe Ross and two relievers for 14 hits including a homer by Wisconsin native Jarred Kelenic.
Ross talked about his outing.
Ross explained that he really wasn’t executing his pitches.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said he thought Ross threw the ball well.
Freddy Peralta is scheduled to start this afternoon’s (Wednesday’s) rubber game of the series.
The Brewers lead both the second-place St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates by 6 games.
Wednesday’s game has a 12:35 pre-game and can be heard on 1440 and 101.9 WNFL.
