(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers were overpowered by the Miami Marlins 6-2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Friday.
Brian De La Cruz and Josh Burger hit home runs in the first inning off of Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta and added 2 more runs in the second and a single run in the ninth on a home run by Josh Bell to beat the Brewers.
Peralta struggled, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out 4 to fall to 6-6 on the season.
The Brewers got their runs on a Rhys Hoskins’ home run in the third inning (his 16th) and a sacrifice fly by Gary Sanchez in the fourth inning that scored William Contreras.
The Brewers who lead the second-place St. Louis Cardinals by 6 games host the Marlins at 6:10 Saturday night.
