FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — With hundreds of thousands of people set to descend on Northeast Wisconsin for EAA AirVenture, the Fond du Lac Police Department (FDLPD) is aiming to curb drug and sex trafficking.
In a news release, FDLPD said it is increasing its presence at hotels and motels throughout the week-long EAA event.
Officers and investigators will be deployed in marked squad cars and unmarked vehicles to monitor visitors who may check into hotels and engage in sex trafficking or the delivery, sale and/or or use of drugs and narcotics.
Additionally, FDLPD has worked with area hotels and motels to educate managers and employees about identifying potential warning signs of sex trafficking and drug activity.
