FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A family of two adults and two children are displaced after a fire on Friday. It also led to a firefighter being injured, as well four pets being found deceased in the aftermath.
A release by the Fox Crossing Fire Department says crews responded to a single-story, single-family home on July 19th just after 5:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Cold Spring Road.
A Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) alerted the Appleton FD and Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue to assist at the scene of the fire.
Fire units were able to bring the fire under control within a half hour.
Teams conducted rescue operations inside the home, where they discovered four deceased pets.
One firefighter was injured and treated for a heat related injury.
The release says the American Red Cross is aiding the displaced family of four.
There is no damage estimate at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
