(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers scored 5 runs in the first inning on Saturday against the Washington Nationals at American Family Field and went on to lost 6-5.
CJ Abrams hit a 2-run home run in the ninth inning off Brewers reliever Tyler McGill to give the Nationals the lead.
The Brewers got their runs in the first inning on a 2-run double by Rhys Hoskins, a run-scoring double by Andruw Monasterio and a 2-run single by Eric Haase.
Dallas Kuechel started for the Brewers and lasted 3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.
McGill took the loss and fell to 0-2.
The 2 teams will meet in the series finale Sunday afternoon at 1:10 in the last game before the All-Star break.
Colin Rea will start for the Brewers while Jake Irvin gets the start for Washington.
