UNDATED (WSAU) The Wisconsin Highway Patrol is looking for a few good men and women. The state announced yesterday a new class of troopers will start training in September. Applicants must have at least two years of college and be able to pass a physical exam. The physical exams are being offered in early April.
It’s not clear how many new troopers will be hired. Previous classes of new hires have ranged from 25 to 50.
New recruits who are accepted into the training program are paid $21-an-hour, with a $1 or 2 increase after six months.
Troopers get free meals and lodging while training at the state patrol academy. The new recruits will graduate and enter service as troopers or inspectors at the end of March, 2018.
You can find more information and an application at the state’s jobs website.
