MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The presidential race in Wisconsin remains a tossup, a new Marquette University Law School poll shows.
The poll results released Wednesday show both Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican former President Donald Trump with 50% support among all registered voters. Among likely voters, Biden leads 51-49%.
Both are within the poll’s margin of error.
The numbers show slight gains by Biden, who trailed Trump 51-49% in the last Marquette poll in April.
When third-party candidates are added to the mix, Trump leads among likely voters at 44%, with Biden at 42% and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 7%. Other candidates receive 3% or less of the vote.
Biden and Trump will meet in a debate Thursday night. Watch live at 8 p.m. on FOX 11.
The June survey was the first done by Marquette since Trump’s conviction in a hush money trial last month.
The poll shows 55% of Wisconsin voters think Trump is guilty, 36% say he is not guilty and 9% don’t know.
In the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republican challenger Eric Hovde, Baldwin leads 52-47% among both registered and likely voters. That is just outside the 4.6% margin of error.
The poll of 871 registered voters was conducted from June 12-20.
