MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — There will be a recall of Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, after all.
Staff at the Wisconsin Elections Commission on Tuesday say the recall effort confirmed 6,866 signed petitions from Vos’s old 63rd district, 16 more than is required to trigger a recount.
The recall, led by Racine area supporters of Donald Trump, failed to trigger a recall earlier this year after numerous petitions were found to be forged or from Vos’s current 33rd Assembly district.
It’s currently unclear if that recall will take place in Vos’s former district, or the new one created with the adoption of new elections maps.
