LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Whether or not Joe Gow will be allowed to resume teaching at UW La Crosse is the subject of a two day public hearing.
Wednesday’s session featured back and forth between interim Chancellor Betsy Morgan and Gow, who was dismissed as chancellor last year after he and his wife posted porn videos online.
“The fact that again, Joe, you don’t seem to understand that this was problematic concerns me,” said Morgan. “The fact that you don’t think there’s reputational damage.”
“If you could show that it hurt enrollment or fundraising, I will concede that but you can’t, can you?” replied Gow.
“I can tell you that we’ve had donors who flat out say ‘I will never give another penny to this university if Joe Gow is teaching.'” said Morgan.
Gow is accused of unethical and potentially illegal conduct, mostly related to his time as chancellor. But the hearing focuses on his fitness to teach.
