EAU CLAIRE, WI (WSAU) Investigators in Eau Claire are calling the city’s latest deadly shooting an accident. Police say Cole Knutson accidentally shot himself in the chest at a home near Cadott last week. He died on Thursday.
Officers say Knutson picked up the gun from a kitchen counter and it went off, striking him in the chest. A sheriff’s department report says the 22-year—old man was twirling the revolver on his finger when it discharged. Alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Three other people were in the home at the time. No one else was hurt.
