(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers ran into Cincinnati Reds team that has been on a roll and the Reds continued that roll Friday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee with a 6-5 win.
The Reds who won despite committing 4 errors scored 6 runs on 10 hits and 1 walk off Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta in 5 1/3 innings.
The Reds took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a home run by TJ Friedl that the Brewers’ William Contreras matched with his 9th home run in the last half of the third.
Jonathan India gave the Reds a 2-1 lead with a run-scoring single in the fourth with Elly De La Cruz stroking a RBI triple and Jeimer Candelaria hitting a 2-run home run in the fifth.
Contreras scored for the Brewers on a fielder’s choice to make it 5-2 after 5 innings.
When Friedl hit a run-scoring single for the Reds in the sixth, Peralta’s day was done.
The Brewers added a run on a throwing error in the sixth and tacked on 2 more in the ninth on a bases-loaded walk to Joey Ortiz and a run-scoring single by Jackson Chourio for the 6-5 final
Hunter Green got the win for the Reds, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings.
Peralta is now 4-4 with an ERA of 4.38.
