Melvin Kemp PC: Fox 11 Online
FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Melvin Kemp was sentenced to nine years in prison for running a drug distribution ring in Fond du Lac.
Kemp, 31, was also placed extended supervision for 10 years at Thursday’s hearing by Judge Tricia Walker, court records show.
The investigation, which also included the state of Michigan, discovered the delivery and distribution of more than 100 pounds of meth with the street value of $1 million in 2022, as well as the early stages of a fentanyl distribution operation.
Authorities in Fond du Lac County seized 3.25 pounds of meth and 280 grams of fentanyl.
District Attorney Eric Toney previously said that amount of fentanyl would be enough to kill 104,000 people — more than the number of people who live in Fond du Lac County.
Ten people were charged during the investigation.
