RACINE, WI (WSAU) – A person of interest is in custody following the death of a 3-year-old boy in Racine. The Journal Times reports Jeremiah Pitts was shot and killed yesterday at a duplex 0n the 1800 block of Howe Street early Wednesday morning.
Police say the case has been handled as a homicide. A weapon has been recovered.
Investigators have also been talking to neighbors about what led up to the shooting. A family member called 9-1-1. The boy died from a wound to the chest.
The person that police are holding hasn’t been identified. Their name won’t be released until charges are filed. The District Attorney is reviewing the case.
