OCONTO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A cat who arrived at the Oconto Area Humane Society with a bullet lodged in his leg is in need of donations and a forever home.
On Thursday, the shelter posted on Facebook sharing the story of Mitch — a black-furred, green-eyed cat who came to OAHS as an injured stray.
Further veterinary care revealed Mitch had a severe break and a bullet lodged in his leg. Ultimately, officials made the decision to amputate — at a cost of $3,000.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first case where we have had a stray cat brought in from our area with a bullet wound,” OAHS wrote in the Facebook post.
We are asking for donations to help us continue to provide care and emergency surgeries for animals in need. We appreciate everyone who is able to donate to help animals in need. Together we can save so many lives!
