STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The cherry trees in Sturgeon Bay are in full bloom this time of year but not without concern earlier in the year.
In February, apple and cherry farmers were worried about severe winter weather that was hitting the area.
Sometimes the orchards can bloom too soon due to warm weather and when peak season comes, they’ve already lost a large portion of their yield.
Skipp Robertson of Robertson Orchards said despite all that, the crop came out in a good spot.
He’s excited to welcome people back to the property to admire the cherry blossoms.
Visit the orchards’ Facebook page to learn their hours and general information.
