GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Peter and Tracy Flucke have been riding a tandem bike together for nearly 30 years.
On Tuesday, the pair will help officially start the countdown to the 2025 NFL Draft by bringing a themed football to Green Bay.
Peter and Tracy were approached by the Packers about the event months ago, and were on board from the start.
“When the draft is coming, there’s going to be thousands of people in the Green bay area and they’re going to have to move by foot and by bike to be able to get where they want to get,” said Tracy Flucke. “So, what a better way to highlight that and encourage that than to have the football come up to Green Bay by bicycle.”
The football they will help transport is being brought to Milwaukee from Muskegon, Michigan, by the Lake Express Ferry.
The Flucke’s will be part of a small group that will be biking from Milwaukee all the way to Lambeau Field.
The two have biked across the country, but call this trip a once-in-a-lifetime event.
“For us biking is really about experiences, it’s the places we go, its the people we meet. And to be able to share that kind of with our unique perspective through a bicyclists eyes with the people that are going to be coming here for the draft, it’s a great opportunity for us,” said Peter Flucke.
Peter and Tracy both say from trails to county roads, Tuesday’s event will showcase the best of biking in Wisconsin.
“To highlight our trails as well as our road system. You can bike on almost any road in the state of Wisconsin,” said Tracy.
Kids are encouraged to join in, too.
The group will be making a pit stop at Ray Nitschke Field where kids can then ride with them around 6 p.m. to their final stop — the Lambeau Field Atrium.
When the football arrives at the Atrium, a ceremony will be held to reveal a 2025 NFL Draft countdown clock around 6:30 p.m.
