BEAVER DAM, WI (WTAQ) – Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while putting out a blaze that damaged a former Green Giant vegetable facility in Beaver Dam.
Units were called late Sunday afternoon, after a report of smoke emerging from a corner of the structure — which was currently being used to store RV’s, trailers, cars, and boats.
Several other fire departments provided assistance, and they were still trying to put out hot spots at last word.
Fire officials said a sprinkler system didn’t work in the building because it was frozen. High winds and cold temperatures caused delays in getting the blaze under control.
The cause is being investigated.
