MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – The Milwaukee Brewers’ team dog has gone Hollywood.
Hank was named the Dog of the Year at the CW Network’s World Dog Awards. The honor was presented in Hollywood last weekend, but it was not officially announced until Thursday night when the ceremony was televised.
Paris Hilton presented Hank with his “Golden Hydrant,” and former NFL star Terrell Owens was also part of the event.
Hank was named 1 of 5 finalists as the top dog, and viewers selected him as the winner in an online vote.
The ceremony included awards that ranged from heroic feats to mass popularity.
Hank won tons of affection after he appeared as a stray last February at the Brewers’ Spring Training site in Phoenix. Nobody ever claimed him, so the team adopted him.
Hank lives with Brewers’ vice president Marti Wronski and her family.
