SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A family is putting down roots in Seymour, thanks to Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity.
The organization held a groundbreaking and tree planting ceremony on the future site of a home on Foote Street Friday.
The home will be built for the Davis family who says the neighborhood is perfect.
“We’ve moved around about eight times so in the 10 years we’ve had our oldest son and it’s just kind of nice to get something more permanent where we’re not dealing with like mold and bugs and you know, unhealthy situations and that stability is really nice,” said Sara Davis.
“It’s just nice to have somewhere where we can actually be grounded and just somewhere where we can grow as a family,” added Nick Davis
The home build is half sponsored by Good Faith Funding. Owner Jaris Briski says he hopes other community members and businesses will be inspired and bring about funding for the other half of the build.
“We’re blessed with the opportunity to help sponsor but all of these homes are only built because of other sponsors and volunteers for theses opportunities and for these homes to be built for these wonderful families and we think it’s a great thing that other people have stepped up but there’s always opportunity as I understand it for others to step up,” Briski said.
