GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A grant is taking students out in the classroom and into nature.
Students from Tank Elementary School in Green Bay took a field trip to the Green Bay Botanical Garden Friday.
It was part of a grant from Altrusa International Foundation, Inc. as part of its “Connecting Nature, Play, and Learning For Brighter Futures” project.
“The Altrusa Club received a grant to connect nature, play and learning for the students and it was a really great opportunity then to partner with the garden because then our staff went into the schools and did hands-on learning in the classroom and now they’re all coming here to mesh it in this beautiful wonderland,” explained president and CEO of Green Bay Botanical Garden, Laura Nelson.
The students spent most of their time inside the new Bell Children’s Garden which opened about a year ago.
