(WTAQ-WLUK) — Sturgeon have moved farther upstream on the Wolf River as the spawning run continues.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says sturgeon were spawning below the Shawano dam on Wednesday morning. Spawning activity had stopped, meanwhile, at Bamboo Bend in Shiocton and the Sturgeon Trail near New London.
Sturgeon had also stopped spawning at the Princeton dam on the upper Fox River.
Sturgeon from Lake Michigan were spawning at the Peshtigo dam on the Peshtigo River. While sturgeon were seen in the lower Fox River at the De Pere dam, they had not yet begun to spawn.
