A season long four game losing streak was put to bed by the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday night with an impressive win over the NBA’s best Boston Celtics 104-91 at Fiserv Forum. The win came with a cost however as late in the third quarter, Giannis Antetokounmpo tumbled to the floor with a non-contact injury. The two time MVP clutched his lower leg and remained on the floor for several minutes before hobbling off. The Bucks said it appears to be a calf related injury and an MRI will be performed Wednesday to determine the extent. Antetokounmpo was seen walking under his own power with a noticeable limp after the ballgame. The Bucks started fast, hitting 8 of their first 10 three point shots in building a 37-21 lead after the opening quarter. Patrick Beverley got a rare start and delivered a team high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis and Giannis each had 15. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 22. The game also produced a historical note as the Bucks were just 1 of 2 from the free throw line while the Celtics became the first team in NBA history to not even attempt a single free throw. Boston still has the best record in the league at 62-17. The Bucks improved to 48-31, keeping a hold on second place in the Eastern Conference with three games to play. They have a one game lead on the New York Knicks and they’re two games ahead of the Orlando Magic who will take on the Bucks in Milwaukee Wednesday night.
