MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Eric Hovde disagrees with President Joe Biden’s plan for student loan debt relief.
Biden introduced it Monday in Madison. The Republican U.S. Senate candidate calls it unfair for the majority of Wisconsinites.
“Why is it fair, for someone who never had the opportunity to go to college, has to now pick up the tab for those who are getting student debt relief?” asked Hovde.
Hovde said it’s also unfair to those that have paid off their student loan debt and those that never took student loans, and called Biden’s plan a form of “vote-buying.”
Hovde is challenging Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin in November.
