SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Road work will impact nearly eight miles of WIS 54 in Outagamie County beginning next month.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) says the project will improve 7.7 miles of WIS 54, from French Road to Seminary Road through Seymour, Osborn and Oneida.
Work begins April 8 and is expected to conclude in September. Improvements include:
- Milling and resurfacings
- Construction of two roundabout intersections at WIS 54 and County C and WIS 54 and WIS 55
- Beamguard upgrades
- Widened pave shoulder from three feet to five feet
- Conversion of the four-lane roadway in Seymour to a three-lane roadway that has a two way left turn lane (TWLTL)
- Centerline and shoulder rumble strips will be installed in rural high-speed areas\
- New pavement marking
The intersection at WIS 54 and County C will be closed and detoured for roundabout construction, starting April 8. Access will be maintained to businesses and residents along the project corridor throughout the project. The detour utilizes WIS 55, County G and Mainline Drive
Additionally, the intersection at WIS 54 and WIS 55 will be closed and detoured for roundabout construction. This closure is anticipated to begin in June. Again, access will be maintained to businesses and residents. The detour utilizes WIS 47, County G and Mainline Drive.
