MISHICOT, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating an officer-involved incident Tuesday in Mishicot that left one person injured.
Around 3:55 p.m., officers from the Mishicot Police Department were dispatched to a domestic dispute in the 200 block of South Main Street. When police arrived, a subject in the driveway of a home “approached the officers in an aggressive manner” and ignored verbal comments.
Non-lethal means were deployed by law enforcement in an attempt to control the subject, who became distressed. Life-saving measures were provided and EMS responded to the scene.
Officials say the subject was taken to a local hospital and continues to receive treatment.
No officers or other individuals were injured during the incident. Officers involved were wearing body cameras and have been placed on administrative duty, per department policy.
The DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation. After reviewing evidence and determining the facts of the incident, DCI will turn over investigative reports to the Manitowoc County District Attorney.
