GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new space inside the East Branch of the Brown County Library is dedicated to job seekers.
On Wednesday, the library held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the launch of its JobPod pilot site.
Formed under a partnership with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, the JobPod room provides easy and reliable access to job search resources.
Sarah Sugden, executive director of the Brown County Library, says the JobPod removes barriers for those seeking employment.
“We know that public libraries are very easy for people to get to. Job centers are more challenging because of distance and transportation barriers so a JobPod is a collaboration between public libraries and workforce development again to harness assets and resources that are already there in our community,” she said.
There are plans to include JobPods at other libraries throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Job seekers can go online to reserve the JobPod.
