OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An 89-year-old suffered “significant injuries” after they were struck by a vehicle Wednesday while walking on a sidewalk.
At approximately 1:35 p.m., the Oshkosh Police Department was notified of an incident in the 300 block of N. Westhaven Drive involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
An investigation revealed a 78-year-old woman was backing out of a driveway and into the roadway when she struck an 89-year-old who was walking on the sidewalk.
Officials say the pedestrian was taken to Theda Clark with “significant injuries.” The driver is being cooperative with the ongoing investigation.
The roadway was closed for about 80 minutes but is now open.
