WISCONSIN DELLS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A vigil was held Saturday night in Wisconsin Dells for Elijah Vue.
The three-year-old boy has been missing for more than two weeks after staying with his mother’s boyfriend in Two Rivers.
Balloons, candles, and pictures were placed at a tree where neighbors say Vue played.
Both the mother and boyfriend, Jesse Vang, are in jail on child neglect charges.
Miranda Dolle drove more than two hours to put on the vigil. She says the situation hits close to home as she is a victim of domestic violence.
“The little boy went missing in the hands of a caretaker that was just horrible,” said Dolle. “This poor boy has gone through the pain like no tomorrow.”
Vue was last seen by Jesse Vang at 8 a.m. on Feb. 20 in the 3900 block of Mishicot Road. On Feb. 12, Baur sent Vue to stay with Vang for “disciplinary reasons.” According to the criminal complaint, Vang said he was babysitting Vue at his Two Rivers home, but fell asleep. When he woke up around 11 a.m. on Feb. 20, he called police. An Amber Alert was subsequently issued.
Anyone who provides information leading to the discovery of Vue or the arrest and charging of the individual(s) responsible for his disappearance is eligible for a reward of up to $25,000.
Vue is described as having dark blonde hair and brown eyes. He is about three feet tall, weighs about 45 pounds and has a birth mark on his left knee.
