GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Cannery Test Kitchen is shutting down after only nine months in business, officials announced Thursday.
Billed as a way to support budding chefs and entrepreneurs in the food industry, the test kitchen opened last summer with five tenants. Its reopening came roughly three years after Cannery Public Market closed due to COVID-19.
“This difficult decision is based on several factors including the inability to address all the barriers associated with startup restaurants,” the Greater Green Bay Chamber said in a news release.
We understand that this may bring uncertainties and concerns for the two tenants, and we are committed to transparency and support for the businesses. We genuinely regret when businesses are not able to achieve their goals and become self-sustaining. Still, this outcome is sometimes unavoidable in the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship. We want to thank the community for supporting the concept of the test kitchen over the last few months. We are working closely with each tenant to address concerns and explore options for each business.
March 21 will be The Cannery Test Kitchen’s last day in business. Its current tenants include Colombian Flavors and FiveThumbsUp Desserts.
